Polished Partnerships

The Polished Girlz are so honored and thrilled to partner with the K12 Gallery for Young People! We will be utilizing of a section their new art space to hold in services and trainings for our youth volunteers and we could not be more proud.

The demand has grown by word-of-mouth and inquiries about K12 students’ downtown art displays, said Jerri Stanard, K12 founder and executive director.

The gallery serves more than 250 students in a variety of art programs, including summer art camps, field trips, birthday parties and after-school and Saturday classes. K12 also hosts art exhibits by local professional artists and students throughout the year and is the only continuous exhibition space for children’s artwork in the state. Young people participate in selecting, mounting, organizing and hanging art at the gallery. In addition, two K12 artists teach more than 350 students each week at six urban Catholic schools in Dayton.
The new space, its Teen Education and Joint Adult Studio, will allow it to expand its teen art classes and add a new adult art class. Two art teachers will be hired to lead the classes. The nonprofit currently has two full-time employees. A group of 15 to 20 artists also work with K12 on a contract basis, and the new addition will allow the organization to hire more artists, more often, Stanard said.
we thank you Ms Jerri for allowing Alanna and her young team not only to learn in your space but to create, explore and feel encouraged to use their imaginations. we are not just nail polishers for children with special needs, we are nail artist and what better way to bring out the artist in our girls than to be in a true artist space.
-How Polished is that!
